Tá an bhainistíocht ag leanúint treoirlínte agus seicliostaí an rialtais maidir le hathoscailt scoileanna. Ní plean amháin a oireann do gach scoil é agus tá cinntí á dhéanamh againn maidir leis na bealaí is fearr chun na rioscaí a bhaineann le Covid-19 a laghdú i gcomhthéacs ár scoile féin.

Cuirfear eolas ar fáil freisin ar shuíomh gréasáin na scoile http://gaelcholaistecheatharlach.ie/

Muna bhfaigheann tuismitheoirí nó caomhnóirí ríomhphoist nó téacsanna ba chóir dóibh ríomhphost a sheoladh chuig eolas@gcc-cw.ie chun a chinntiú go bhfuil na sonraí teagmhála cearta againn. Tá sé fíor-thábhachtach go bhfuil d’uimhreacha fón póca suas chun dáta againn. Tá sé fíor-thábhachtach, freisin, go bhfuil tú ar fáil chun an fón póca a fhreagairt i rith an lae scoile.

Iniata thíos tá liosta de na rialacha agus na prótacail féideartha a bheidh i bhfeidhm i mbliana. Níl súil againn go gcabhróidh sé le cuid de na ceisteanna ag an am seo.

Díghalrán Lámh: Beidh díghalrán lámh ar fáil ar an mbealach isteach/is amach, taobh amuigh de na leithris agus i ngach seomra freisin.

  • Is féidir a bheith ag súil go mbeidh a seomraí féin ag blianta agus ag gach rang grúpa agus go dtiocfaidh na múinteoirí chucu chun iad a mhúineadh.
  • Rinneadh tomhais ar na seomraí ranga agus tá cathaoireacha agus deasca leagtha amach go cúramach de réir Creat chun Fadú Fisiceach a choinneáil sa Seomra Ranga in Iar-Bhunscoileanna.
  • Rachaidh daltaí go díreach go dtí a seomraí ranga agus fanfaidh siad ansin don lá scoile iomlán, seachas nuair a bheidh ranganna praiticiúla acu mar shampla Eolaíocht/Teicneolaíocht/Ealaín/ Eacnamaíocht Bhaile/Ceol srl. Nuair a bheidh siad sna ranganna meascaithe seo fanfaidh siad lena mbun rang féin sna suíocháin a leagfar amach dóibh.
  • Beidh ‘Córas Aontreo’ i bhfeidhm i bpasáistí na scoile agus táimid ag féachaint ar bhealaí difriúla isteach agus amach a úsáid freisin do gach bliain ghrúpa.
  • Níl cead ag daltaí bailiú le chéile taobh amuigh den gheata ar an mbealach isteach nó amach ón scoil.Beidh a d(h)easc féin ag gach dalta ina s(h)eomra ranga.
  • De réir phrótacal an rialtais caithfear gach seomra ranga a ghlanadh i ndiaidh gach rang. Caithfidh daltaí a ndeasc agus a gcathaoir féin agus aon dromchla eile a raibh siad i dteagmháil leis a ghlanadh. Cuirfidh an scoil na hábhair ghlantacháin ar fáil. Tá sé seo anois mar chuid den Chód Iompair.
  • Ní bheidh taisceadáin in úsáid i mbliana chun laghdú a dhéanamh ar dhaltaí a bheith ag bailiú le chéile i ngrúpaí.
  • Ba chóir do dhaltaí laghdú ar an méid rudaí a thógann siad ar scoil. Tabharfaidh a múinteoirí treorach dóibh faoi cad a bhéas ag teastáil ina ranganna
  • Beidh cead ag daltaí chuid dena leabhair/cóipleabhair a fhágáil ar an deasc sa tráthnóna ach níl cead aon rud a fhágáil ar an urlár mar cuirfidh sé sin isteach ar an nglanadh.
  • Beidh ar dhaltaí a gcuid málaí agus cótaí/seaicéid a choinneáil leo i rith an lae.
  • Ní bheidh cead ag daltaí suíomh na scoile a fhágáil ag am lóin ach amháin go dtéann siad abhaile don lón. Níl cead dul chuig na siopaí áitiúla. Beidh an socrú seo á scrúdú ag deireadh Meán Fómhair. (Seol nóta cead chuig eolas@gcc-ce.ie) Beidh ar dhaltaí a lón a ithe ag a ndeasca féin sa seomra ranga agus beidh orthu a gcuid bruscair féin a thabhairt abhaile leo ar chúiseanna sláinteachais.
  • Beidh plé le Coiste Cairde na dTuistí faoi chóras maidir le bia a ordú le teacht isteach san scoil ag am lóin.

  • Ba chóir na daltaí a spreagadh chun siúl nó rothaíocht ar scoil nuair is féidir. Is trí choinne a eagrú roimh ré amháin a thabharfar gach cuairt ar an scoil.
  • Beidh éide scoile fós éigeantach ach amháin ar laethanta go bhfuil Corpoideachas ag an dalta de bharr nach mbeidh na seomraí feistis in úsáid. Ní mór do dhaltaí a bheith gléasta go cuí do Chorpoideachas i ngeansaí reatha liath GCC agus bríste reatha GCC.
  • De réir treoirlínte na Roinne Oideachais is Scileanna caithfear masc a chaitheamh san seomra ranga ach amháin go bhfuil eisceacht i gceist.
  • Tá aghaidh-masc agus scáthlán éigeantach do dhaltaí agus iad ag úsáid ríomhaire.
  • Níor eisigh an Roinn aon treoirlínte, go fóill, maidir leis na hábhair phraiticiúla.
  • Ba chóir do thuismitheoirí / caomhnóirí a chinntiú go bhfuil masc compordach le caitheamh ag a bpáiste.
  • Cuirfidh an scoil dhá mhasc in-athúsáidte ar fáil do gach dalta.
  • Caithfidh an dalta a chinntiú go bhfuil masc aige/aici i gcónaí. Muna bhfuil tá an Cód Iompair á bhriseadh.
  • Caithfidh tuismitheoirí a bpáiste a choinneáil sa bhaile má tá aon siomtóim de Covid 19
  • Má bhíonn siomtóim ag dalta ar scoil, tabharfar é nó í go discréideach go seomra coraintín speisialta agus beifear ag súil go mbaileoidh tuismitheoirí iad a luaithe agus is féidir.
  • Tá cód iompair na scoile agus beartais ábhartha eile á n-athrú faoi láthair chun athoscailt le linn Covid-19. Cuirfear na rialacha go léir a bhaineann le Covid-19 agus sláinte agus sábháilteacht i bhfeidhm go docht daingean.
  • Feicfidh daltaí a lán comharthaíochta Covid-19 timpeall na scoile agus beifear ag súil go gcomhlíonfaidh siad na treoracha go léir a bhaineann le fadú sóisialta.
  • Molaimid do thuismitheoirí a bheith ullmhaithe don fhéidearthacht go mbeadh cianfhoghlaim ón mbaile ag tarlú más gá. Molaimid go bhfuil fearas digiteach ag gach teaghlachh chomh  maith le fón an dalta.
  • Aon tuismitheoirí go bhfuil dalta acu atá mar ‘ An ardriosca’, an féidir leo teacht i dteagmháil leis an bpríomhoide ionas gur féidir linn plean faoi leith a ullmhú.
  • Ní bheidh áiseanna staidéir tar éis scoil ar fáil do dhaltaí – déanfar athbhreithniú ar seo ag deireadh Meán Fómhair .
  • Beidh scoileanna ar fud na tíre ag breathnú agus ag mothú an-difriúil i Meán Fómhair. Táimid ag iarraidh gach tacaíocht a thabhairt dár ndaltaí san tréimhse dúshlánach seo tríd na foirne tacaíochta agus folláine. Please see gov.ie Reopening our post primary schools for more detailed information.

Management are currently following the government’s guidelines and checklists for school reopening. It is not a one size fits all plan and we have considered the best ways to minimise risks connected with Covid-19 in the context of our own school

We will also post information on the school’s website http://gaelcholaistecheatharlach.ie/

If any parents or guardians do not receive emails or texts they should email eolas@gcc-cw.ie to confirm that we have the correct contact information. It is VITAL that we have your up to date mobile phone numbers.  It is also VITAL that you are contactable during the school day.

The following are a list of rules and protocols which will apply for this school year. The list below is not exhaustive and may be subject to further alterations.

  • Hand sanitiser: Hand sanitiser will be available on entry/exit to the school, outside the toilets and in each classroom.
  • Each class group will be assigned their own classroom and their teachers will come to teach them.
  • In line with government protocol all classrooms must be cleaned after every class. Students must clean their own desk and chair and any other surface they may have been in contact with. The school will supply the cleaning materials. This is now also part of the Code of Behaviour.
  • Classrooms have been measured and chairs and desks have been carefully configured in accordance with the Department’s ‘Framework to maintain Physical Distancing in the Classroom in Post Primary Schools.
  • Students will go directly to their assigned classroom once they enter the school building and will remain there throughout the school-day, except for practical subjects such as Science/Technology/Art/Home Economics/Music etc. When they are in these mixed classes, students must sit with those from their base class in assigned seating.
  • There will be ‘One-Way System’ in operation on the school corridors and there will be specific entry and exit points for each class group. (See plan)
  • Students must not congregate in a group outside the school gates either on their way in or when leaving school.
  • Students will be assigned their own desks within their classroom.
  • In order to avoid students congregating inside, lockers will not be used by students this year.
  • Students should work towards minimising the amount of items they bring to school. Teachers will specify what is needed in their class.
  • Students will be allowed to leave some of their books/copies neatly on their desk after school but there must not be anything left on the floor as this would interfere with cleaning.
  • Students will have to keep their bags and coats/jackets with them throughout the day.
  • All students must remain on the school grounds for lunch unless they are going home for lunch. This is to avoid inappropriate congregation at local shops. It will be reviewed at the end of September (email permission note to eolas@gcc-cw.ie Students eat their lunch at their assigned desks in the classroom for the first 15 minutes and then they can access a designated outside zone.
  • In conjunction with the Parents Council we will look at arranging a food ordering and delivery service with local suppliers  for lunch times.
  • Break-times will be staggered and year/class groups will have their own designated areas outside.
  • Students should be encouraged to walk or cycle to school where possible. All visits to school will be by prior appointment only.
  • Uniforms will still be compulsory except on days where students have PE . Changing rooms will not be in use. Students need to be appropriately dressed in their grey GCC sports top and GCC tracksuit bottoms.
  • According to the Department of Education and Skills Guidelines students at post primary level apart from specific exemptions will be required to wear face coverings in the classroom.
  • The DES have not issued any guidelines, yet, with regard to the practical subjects.
  • The school will provide 2 reusable facemasks to each student .
  • It is each student’s responsibility to have their face covering at all times. Failure to have a face covering is a breach of the school’s Code of Behaviour.
  • Students must stay at home if they are showing any symptoms of Covid-19.
  • If a child presents with symptoms in school, they will be taken discreetly to a special quarantine room and parents will be expected to collect them as soon as possible.
  • The school’s Code of Behaviour and other relevant policies are currently being altered to take account of re-opening during Covid-19. All rules concerning Covid-19 and health and safety will be strictly enforced.
  • Students may expect to see a lot of Covid-19 signage around the school and they will be expected to comply with all instructions concerning social distancing.
  • We advise parents to be prepared for the possibility of further remote learning from home if the need should arise. We recommend that each household would have some kind of digital device as well as the students’ own phone.

If you are the parent of a “Very High Risk” student you can contact the Principal so that a plan can be prepared.

After school study facilities will not be available for students – this will be reviewed at the end of September as will the timetable .

Schools everywhere in Ireland are going to look and feel very different in September. However, through our Student Support and Wellbeing teams, we are committed to supporting our students in these challenging times. In the meantime, if you have any concerns about your son or daughter, please contact our Guidance Counsellor, Caoimhe Uí Fhearaíl on caoimhe.uifhearail@gcc-cw.ie.

We are confident that the Gaelcholáiste Cheatharlach school community will adapt to this new Educational landscape. Should you have any particular questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school at eolas@gcc-cw.ie.

The Covid-19 Response Plan Phase 2 has been uploaded to the school website today.

Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine.
